The European Parliament’s Brexit negotiator and former Belgian prime minister Guy Verhofstadt wins the Tin Ear Trophy for the worst International Women’s Day-themed tweet by a man in 2019 (which is a pretty tough contest).
In a devastating act of empowerment, Verhofstadt quoted a creepy sex joke and called women “girls”:
